Methodology & editorial standards

How the data and editorial content are produced

Data sources

• Race results, qualifying and lap times come from the open Jolpica F1 API (formerly Ergast), which is built on FIA-published official classifications. • 2024-onward telemetry, lap-by-lap and circuit map data come from the official F1 timing services where available. • Historical statistics are aggregated from Jolpica with our own normalisation layer (consistent driver references across name changes, team rebrands, etc.).

Update cadence

• Race weekends — provisional classification published within 30 minutes of the chequered flag; finalised after stewards' decisions. • Standings — refreshed daily during the season. • Records and leaderboards — re-computed after every race. • Historical data — updated whenever corrections or completions land in the upstream dataset.

Fact-checking

• Every claim of "first / last / record" is computed directly from raw race-result data, not curated lists. The supporting numbers can be reproduced from the same source. • Where editorial paragraphs interpret the numbers (race recaps, opinion pieces), the underlying classification table is always shown alongside so readers can verify. • Corrections are made promptly when errors are flagged. Independence

• Pit Lane F1 has no commercial relationship with Formula 1, the FIA, or any team or driver. • Affiliate links, when present, are clearly tagged with rel="sponsored" per Google's guidelines. • No paid placements, no sponsored articles, no pay-to-play coverage.
