Who we are

This website (pitlanef1.net) is operated by Pit Lane F1. For any privacy question, contact contact@pitlanef1.net. We act as the data controller within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data we collect

We collect only what is needed to run the site. Specifically:

• Pseudonymous usage data via Google Analytics (pages viewed, approximate location, device type, referrer). Only set if you accept analytics in the cookie banner. • Advertising identifiers via Google AdSense when ads are enabled. Only set if you accept advertising in the cookie banner. • A language preference stored in a first-party cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) so we remember the language you chose. • Your consent choice stored locally in your browser (pitlane-consent-v2 in localStorage). We do not collect names, email addresses or any account data — the site has no login.

Why we process it — lawful basis

Analytics and advertising: your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), collected via the cookie banner and revocable at any time. Language preference: our legitimate interest in providing a usable multilingual site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Who we share data with

We use a small number of processors, each bound by their own privacy terms:

• Google LLC — analytics and (once enabled) advertising. • Sanity.io — hosts the news articles you read; does not receive reader personal data. • Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany) — hosts the servers. • Jolpica and OpenF1 — public F1 data sources; they do not receive reader personal data. Some of these providers may transfer data outside the EU/EEA. Transfers rely on EU Standard Contractual Clauses and/or adequacy decisions where applicable.

How long we keep it

Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months (Google Analytics default). The language cookie expires after 1 year. Your consent choice persists in your browser until you clear it.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can, at any time: access the data we hold about you, request correction or deletion, restrict or object to processing, and receive your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@pitlanef1.net. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL, cnil.fr).

Cookies

A detailed list of cookies used and how to withdraw consent is on our Cookie Policy page.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the last-updated date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you on your next visit.
